Lewis Jr, Cheeseman on track for Fall returns
The Hokies were losing Tailbacks this spring like some folks lose their keys. This is not a good trend.
Tech actually saw their top three rushing threats on the depth chart depart. Number one Branden Ore parted ways with the Hokies program before his senior season. Kenny Lewis Junior had a torn labrum in his shoulder that needed repair. And Jahre Cheeseman, who showed some explosiveness and promise in what can be a brutal position--suffered a broken left fibula in the last Saturday scrimmage a week before the spring game. The Hokies Orthopaedic Team physician, Marc Siegel, met with 10 on your side Health reporter Karen McNew and told her that both players are doing well in rehabilitation and are on pace to be back in August, and certainly by September. Siegel says Cheeseman is off of his crutches and doing well. The Hokies are scheduled to report in Blacksburg on Sunday night August 3rd. Virginia Tech opens Saturday August 30th against East Carolina in Charlotte.
